1. Nephtali Short is created by Glen Keane for the Paris Opera

Animation Magazine and Animation World Network reported that Glen Keane Productions announced the launch of animation, Nephtali, which was created for the Paris Opera for the launch of its new digital stage called the 3e Scène (3rd Stage). Glen Keane, known for beloved Disney characters like Ariel from The Little Mermaid and the beast in Beauty and the Beast was personally invited to join to help launch 3rd Stage by Benjamin Millepied, the new Director of Dance for the Paris Opera. Benjamin and Glen first met while they were both working on projects at Google last year and Glen developed Duet.

2. Ghost in the Shell comes to Virtual Reality (VR)

A 360° 3D video production of Ghost in the Shell Virtual Reality Diver was announced. It is produced by a project team called “Sign”, newly established by Production I.G, Orihalcon Technologies and Nobumich Asai (known for Omote project) and some others in Japan. They will produce 10 minutes full-length VR content and release worldwide through Google Play and Apple Store in Winter 2015. They aim 200K annual downloads. A list price is expected to be about 480 yen in Japan.

3. Mamoru Oshii comes to Italy

Lucca Comics & Games 2015 annouced that Mamoru Oshii will be the special guest at Lucca Comics & Games 2015. He will present Garm Wars, his latest feature film in live action on 30 October. Mamoru Oshii is known for his famous work such as Ghost in the Shell and Patlabor. Oshii will also talk in a master class with limited access to 30 lucky fans.
