4. Stop motion Foxed! comes to a feature film

The Hollywood reporter and Variety reported that a stop-motion animated short Foxed! directed by James Stewart is going to be redeveloped as a feature film. It will be also available for virtual reality experience on Oculus Rift platform. According to Variety, the feature version of Foxed! will be distributed worldwide by Prospero Pictures with Stewart’s Geneva Film Co. Prospero plans to pursue an international co-financing deal which is similar to their past work partners in the U.K., France, Germany, South Africa and the U.S.

5. Monster Hunter Stories comes to Animation in 2016

CAPCOM, a game software developer, announced that Monster Hunter Stories, which is under development as the first role playing game in Monster Hunter Series, will be animated and premiered by Fuji Television Network in 2016 in Japan. The Monster Hunter game series introduced a phenomenal communication style, which allowed players to be able to collaborate to hunt monsters. The series reaches global cumulative sales exceeding 32 million units as of June 30, 2015.

6. Former Disney writer contributes to Russian Snow Queen 3

Vladimir Kozlov reported on Hollywood Reporter that former Walt Disney story writer Robert Lence has joined the scriptwriters’ team for Snow Queen 3. Snow Queen 3 is known for the first Chinese-Russian co-production (http://www.hollywoodreporter.com/news/snow-queen-3-chinese-russian-813809). Its first two installments have been sold to 130 countries, grossing $30 million worldwide and one of the most successful animated films from Russia.

8. Granblue Fantasy will be adapted to animation

Cygames, a game developer in Japan, announced their game Granblue Fantasy will be adapted to animation in collaboration with A-1 Pictures Inc. (animation studio) and Aniplex Inc. (distributor).

9. The first animated Netflix original series to be produced in Latin America

Netflix Inc., the leading Internet TV network, announced that Las Leyendas (The Legends) will be the first animated Netflix original series to be produced in Latin America. Netflix will premiere 13 episodes worldwide in 2017. It will be produced by Anima Estudios, a Mexican animation studio.
