3. Animal Logic opens its Studio in Vancouver, Canada

Animal Logic, an Australian visual effects and animation studio, has officially opened in Canada, with the first of the team moving into their new 45,000 sq ft studio in Yaletown, Vancouver. According to the studio, the first major project will be The LEGO Movie Sequel followed by two other future Logo films.

4. Disney invests in Jaunt as a part of $ 65 million series C round of funding

Jaunt, the company pioneering cinematic virtual reality (VR) in the USA, announced a $65 million series C round of funding led by The Walt Disney Company, Evolution Media Partners and China Media Capital (CMC). Jaunt is the developer of the hardware, software, tools, and applications to enable cinematic VR. The new investors will expand Jaunt’s global reach to help make VR the next mainstream content medium.

5. STEVE N’ STEVEN Inc. in Tokyo participates in Hayao Miyazaki’s new short

STEVE N’ STEVEN Inc., a production company for images and videos, has announced that they will take part in Hayao Miyazaki’s first 3D CG short film for the Ghibli Museum in Mitaka, Tokyo Japan.
