1. HBO set a premier date for an animated adult comedy series Animals

Animals, the animated adult comedy series, is going to be premiered on 5th February 2016 according to HBO, US based cable network. It is created by Phil Matarese and Mike Luciano, and produced by Duplass Brothers television. Animals features rats, pigeons, and bedbugs, who live in NYC, in the midst of a midlife crisis similar to that of the humans. It was one of the biggest acquisition deals of the Sundance Film Festival in May 2015 by HBO for their cable network and streaming platforms.

2. My Little Pony: The Movie has a theatrical release date

Hasbro and Lionsgate announced that My Little Pony: The Movie would be released in theatres on 3 November 2017.

3. Pukeko Pictures signs deal with Guangdong Huawen Century Animation Company in China to Produce Kiddets

Pukeko Pictures in New Zealand has signed a development deal with Chinese entertainment group, Guangdong Huawen Century Animation Company, to produce Kiddets, a sister series to The WotWots. Kiddets is being developed as an official TV co-production under the treaty guidelines signed by New Zealand and China last year to explore as many opportunities as possible and have closer relationship with businesses in the two countries.  The agreement enables approved projects to gain official co-production status and gives production houses access to funding and incentives in line with those for national films in each country.

4. Flash Professional will be renamed Adobe Animate CC

Flash Professional will be renamed Adobe Animate CC with the next release in early 2016 to represent their features better. Flash Professional has already incorporated HTML5 Canvas and WebGL support and it will expand functionalities.

5. YouTube Kids App launches in the UK and Ireland

YouTube is launching its YouTube Kids app in the UK and Ireland after its launch in the US. The app offers a filtered selection of videos and channels that are appropriate for children. It does not have features like comments and uploading videos. It has additional functionalities to limit how long children can use it and to block inappropriate search terms.
