1. Manchester Animation Festival reveals its 2016 programme
Manchester Animation Festival is going to be held between 15th and 17th November. Aardman Animation co-founders Peter Lord and David Sproxton will be presented with the festival fellowship award. There will be screenings of a selection of their classic films. Lupus Films will give audiences a behind the scenes look of their recent adaptation of Raymond Briggs’ Ethel and Ernest, a BFI-backed film, which will be released in the UK on 28th October. Furthermore, Folimage from France will present their latest project Phantom Boy.

2. Spark Animation 2016 will be held in Vancouver from 20th to 23rd October
Spark Animation 2016 will be held from 20th to 23rd October in Vancouver, Canada. The line-ups include the Canadian Theatrical Premiere of Kingsglaive: Final Fantasy XV as the opening night feature film of the festival on Thursday, 20th October. The festival pays tribute to Michael Arias with the Western Canadian Premier of his latest film Harmony, followed by a 10th anniversary screening of Tekkonkinkreet. Also there will be screenings of European films such as Dofus – Book 1: Julith and Psychonauts the Forgotten Children. Alongside with the festival, Business Symposium (21st October), Conference (22nd and 23rd October), and Career Fair (22nd October) will be held. Business Symposium will cover topics on intellectual property, a case study from Robot Chicken’s writing process, distribution and more.

3. ZAG announces Miraculous Ladybug YouTube Channel and Webisode Series
ZAG America LLC announces the launch of its Miraculous Ladybug YouTube Channel and webisode series (52 Episodes). The channel and all its exclusive content revolves around TV animated series titled Miraculous™: Tales of Ladybug & Cat Noir. The webisode series went live on 27th September. ZAG aims YouTube Channel to be the place where they can communicate with their fans. The content includes exclusive reveals, Season 2 updates, doodle drawings, Marinette lifestyle with food and fashion in Paris. The first 10 episodes will be in the 3D animation and the second part of episodes will be 2D stylized look.

4. BABYMETAL to be in the hybrid live-action and animated project
Warner Bros. Animation and Warner Digital Series announced that Japanese pop-metal music band “BABYMETAL” to be produced in the hybrid form of live-action and animation by Warner Bros’ digital studio Blue Ribbon Content and Amuse USA. This original short series is under development. The action-adventure will take viewers inside the magical world of heavy metal music as it comes under attack, and one lonely god, Kitsune, forms the warrior band BABYMETAL to save the day.
