1. Russian feature film Savva: Heart of the Warrior has a celebrity American voice cast anticipating its international release
Savva, produced by Moscow-based Gluk’oza production, is preparing for its international release by putting together English-speaking casts that include Milla Jovovich, Whoopi Goldberg, Sharon Stone, Will Chase, and Joe Pesci. Max Fadeev, who is a renowned Russian composer, lyricist, music producer, director and singer, directed the Animation.
2. Strawberry Shortcake Stop-Motion Shorts to come online
Strawberry Shortcake started its online short video series titled Strawberry Shortcake: Beyond the Box. It was produced by Tongal, a crowd-sourced production company. Seasons one and two of Strawberry Shortcake: Beyond the Box both will consist of four episodes.

3. Free coding tutorials for kids from Cartoon Network
Cartoon Network (CN) announced the launch of a series of free coding tutorials for kids featuring characters, scenes, and sounds from its popular show We Bare Bears. It is a result from a new collaboration between CN and Scratch, a coding platform and online community encouraging children to create and share interactive stories, games and animations.
4. Copenhagen Bombay’s Kiwi & Strit debuts
The animated TV series Kiwi & Strit from production company Copenhagen Bombay will premiere this month on Sweden’s SVT. It is produced by Copenhagen Bombay in co-production with the German broadcaster NDR, Studio Hamburg and Film Väst. It is supported by Nordisk Film, TV Fund and Creative Europe.
5. Baobab Studios raises $6M for animated stories in Virtual Reality (VR)
Baobab Studios announced $6 million in a Series A funding round led by Comcast Ventures with participation from HTC and Samsung Ventures. Maureen Fan, who served as VP of games at Farmville maker Zynga, and Eric Darnell, co-director of the Madagascar film franchise and Antz, manage the studio. The trailer for “Invasion!” is featured on Samsung Milk VR, a virtual reality content service, available via Samsung Gear VR powered by Oculus.

6. African adult comedy series My Child debuts
My Child: Teenage Mutant Azanians was premiered on 5th December at the Comedy Central International Comedy Festival and will have its broadcast premiere 11th December on Comedy Central Africa. It is said to be the first animated comedy produced for an Africa audience.
7. Cartoon Network launches a Digital TV Network in SE Asia
Cartoon Network (CN) has launched a Digital TV network in South East Asia. CN broadcasts their programs by Cartoon Network Anything, an app that contains content created for portable mobile platforms. CN’s recent research “New Generations 2015” revealed that in smartphone households in Southeast Asia with children, 86% of kids use apps at least weekly. Those aged 4-14 are accessing on average five apps every month.
8. Nelvana signs multiple new subscription Video-On-Demand deals around the world
Corus Entertainment’s Nelvana, producers and distributors of children’s animated and live-action content, announced that they have sold over 800 episodes of content from their library to multiple subscription video-on-demand (SVOD) service providers around the world.
